By aditya on September 6, 2011 Qontext Named KMWorld “Trend-Setting Product” for 2011

Leading Industry Publication Acknowledges Qontext for its Contextual Collaboration Platform.
Mountain View, CA – August 6, 2011 – Qontext Inc., a leading business social collaboration platform and Gartner’s 2011 “Cool Vendor” pick, today announced that it has been selected as a KMWorld’s Trend Setting Product of 2011.

The “Trend-Setting Product” awards began in 2003. This year, more than 800 products were assessed by the judging panel, which consists of editorial colleagues, analysts, system integrators, vendors themselves (sometimes even competitive ones), line-of-business managers, and users.

Qontext social-enables any business application, by quickly and seamlessly adding activity feeds, embedded collaboration tools, follow-record, content pinning and single-sign-on with a seamless user interface. With Qontext, users can collaborate with colleagues, partners, vendors, or customers inside the business applications they already use (e.g., CRM, ERP, MRM, etc.) and pin those conversations to the relevant business processes and objects for easy recall and powerful information management.

“As one of this year’s ‘Trend-Setting Products’, Qontext demonstrates clearly identifiable technology breakthroughs that serve their customers’ collaboration requirements,” said Hugh McKellar, KMWorld editor-in-chief.

“We’re honored that KMWorld selected Qontext as trend setting product for 2011,” said Samir Ghosh, VP Business Development & Strategy of Qontext. “We find that most users prefer our integrated approach rather than adding additional application destinations. Qontext integrates with existing applications, including legacy apps so users are not locked into any particular application. Not only does this integration provide convenience for the user, but it provides powerful knowledge management for the organization.”

Qontext includes a comprehensive suite of social collaboration tools such as Threaded Discussions, File and true Document Management with versioning and Microsoft Office® integration, Shared Bookmarks, Blogging, Rich Text Wikis, Photo Sharing and Video Streaming, Polls, Quizzes, and Surveys.

By aditya on August 3, 2011 Qontext Releases First Follow-Record Capability For NetSuite

Qontext releases new version of its NetSuite integration, adding support for users to follow activity around NetSuite records of any record type.
Mountain View, CA – August 3, 2011 – Qontext Inc., a leading business social collaboration platform and Gartner’s 2011 “Cool Vendor” pick, today announced a new version of its social software for NetSuite.  This new release adds the ability, for the first time in NetSuite, to follow any changes to selected NetSuite records.  Changes or activity around user-selected records automatically show in their Qontext activity feed.  For example, a user can get notified when the probability of a sales opportunity changes or if the status of an order is updated.

“Qontext for NetSuite” already social-enables NetSuite by providing social collaboration capabilities tightly integrated within NetSuite.  With Qontext, NetSuite users can collaborate with colleagues, partners, vendors, or customers using NetSuite or via Qontext’s stand-alone social portal.

“We’re excited about this new release.  NetSuite users have been asking us for this functionality since we announced our NetSuite integration in the SuiteWorld keynote in June,” said Samir Ghosh, VP Business Development & Strategy of Qontext.  “Qontext for NetSuite provides greater functionality than Salesforce Chatter, plus Qontext integrates with NetSuite, Salesforce, and other applications, including legacy apps so users are not locked into any particular application.  Not only does this integration provide convenience for the user, but it provides easier recall of discussions as they’re pinned to relevant business records and processes.  It also eliminates the ‘social feed overflow’ problem that many suggest might be solved using ‘feed filtering.’”

Qontext’s SuiteApp Helps NetSuite Customers Improve Business Performance by Enhancing Communications and Knowledge Management

San Francisco, May 11, 2011 – Qontext Inc., a leading business social collaboration platform and Gartner’s 2011 “Cool Vendor” pick, today announced a new social-collaboration NetSuite (NYSE: N) application for the SuiteCloud Computing Platform. Qontext facilitates social sharing, contextual conversations, and collaboration across business applications. Qontext’s integration uses NetSuite’s SuiteCloud development platform and includes a SuiteApp that can help NetSuite customers improve business performance by eliminating the need to switch back and forth between different websites and by pinning social collaborations — discussions, documents, videos, blogs, and wikis — right with the records where users expect them.

The announcement was made today at SuiteWorld 2011, NetSuite’s inaugural conference designed for NetSuite customers, solution providers, independent software providers, developers and system integrators. SuiteWorld 2011 is being held in San Francisco.

NetSuite’s SuiteCloud is a comprehensive offering of on-demand products, development tools, and services designed to help customers and commercial software developers take advantage of the significant economic benefits of cloud computing. The complete SuiteCloud offering includes NetSuite’s multi-tenant, always-on SaaS infrastructure; the NetSuite Business Suite of applications for Accounting/ERP, CRM and Ecommerce; and comprehensive development tools to create cloud-based business applications on top of NetSuite.

“Social collaboration becomes more important to businesses every day,” said Samir Ghosh, VP Business Development & Strategy of Qontext. “Our NetSuite SuiteSocial integration offers great value to users by improving business efficiencies and knowledge management.”

The Qontext solution includes the social collaboration tools Threaded Discussions, File and Document Management with versioning and Microsoft Office® integration, Shared Bookmarks, Blogging, Rich Text Wikis, Photo and Video Sharing, Polls, Quizzes, and Surveys.

Working with NetSuite
The new NetSuite Application lets NetSuite users collaborate as easily with non-NetSuite users as with NetSuite users, inside or outside of their organization, and organize social collaborations by NetSuite record as well as aggregate and search across records. The results include improved efficiencies, better use of knowledge, and improved business performance.

“Businesses want to use social applications but are trying to figure out how to integrate them with existing processes and tools,” said Guido Haarmans, Vice President of Developer Programs and Business Development at NetSuite. “Qontext has built a social SuiteApp that is completely integrated with NetSuite’s data model, workflow and user interface making collaboration a natural part of CRM and ERP.”

Qontext designated for context-aware computing

Mountain View, CA April 28, 2011 – Qontext, a leading provider of Enterprise Social Software solutions, today announced it has been included in the list of six “Cool Vendors in Context-Aware Computing” by Gartner, Inc.

A key finding in the report, available from Gartner, states “Organizations need to understand the principles of context-aware computing to properly filter the increasing amount of sensor, search, analytics, location, presence and social information they can use to enhance applications and user experiences.”

While the benefits of using internal social software is gaining widespread acceptance among enterprises, most employees and departments would like to see immediate and sustained benefits. Tangible benefits are realized when social collaboration is integrated within the applications used every day, by preventing loss of productivity due to context switching and aiding knowledge capture and reuse. Qontext does this by providing immediate access to contextually relevant communications and documents right inside and across business applications.

“Social contextual collaboration delivers true ROI and sustained adoption to an enterprise by augmenting existing business processes,” said Jay Pullur, CEO of Qontext Inc. “We consider our inclusion in the Cool Vendor report by Gartner as confirmation of our mission to enable customers to unlock the power of social collaboration.”

About the Cool Vendor Selection Process
Gartner’s listing does not constitute an exhaustive list of vendors in any given technology area, but rather is designed to highlight interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services. Gartner disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to this research, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness of a particular purpose. Gartner defines a cool vendor as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are: Innovative, enable users to do things they couldn’t do before; Impactful, have, or will have, business impact (not just technology for the sake of technology); Intriguing, have caught Gartner’s interest or curiosity in approximately the past six months.

By aditya on March 7, 2011 Unifying Social Collaboration and Access Control across Enterprise & Cloud Applications

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 8, 2011 – Qontext, the leading business social collaboration platform today announced it has joined the Intel® Expressway partnership program. With mainstream adoption of cloud applications and social collaboration within enterprises, the next challenge to overcome is to enable seamless identity management and social interaction across multiple applications. Qontext provides cross-application social collaboration functionality and Intel® Expressway Cloud Access 360 (Intel ECA 360) provides access control for the cloud through federated single-sign-on (SSO), user provisioning, step up strong authentication and client aware authorization.

Consistent with Gartner’s top three strategic technology predictions for 2011, this partnership will help deliver a seamless combination of cloud, social and mobile capabilities for enterprises by ensuring that both the social collaboration and identity management are consistent across the applications within the organization.

IntelECA 360 software is the first solution suite designed to control the entire lifecycle of access security for enterprises and their partners connecting to cloud applications. Qontext is a unique social business collaboration platform because it integrates seamlessly and deeply with existing applications. The partnership will enable customers to easily add consistent, unified social collaboration and identity management across their applications.

“Qontext and Intel ECA 360 are a natural fit,” said Samir Ghosh, Qontext vice president of business development. “Together, the two products provide a consistent social, collaboration and security experience, paired with functionality across the enterprise’s applications. For example, with Intel ECA 360 and Qontext, an enterprise user could collaborate with a cloud ERP system that links to an on-premises content management system, all using Active Directory behind the firewall for SSO and appropriate access privileges in both systems.”

“We’re working with Qontext to show what can be accomplished beyond SSO,” said Girish Juneja, director, Intel Application Security & Identity Products. “Users of Qontext and Intel ECA 360 can use social collaboration within various applications while ensuring consistent, enterprise-class security and access control across those applications.”

Qontext even connects social conversations across multiple applications, all with no programming or customization.

Qontext offers a unique set of differentiators that sets it apart, including easy integration with all apps, visibility controls and the ability to collaborate both internally and externally.

By admin on November 15, 2010 Business application social collaboration leader teams up with fastest growing Customer Relationship Management firm

Qontext and SugarCRM: A Sweet Deal

Mountain View, CA – November 18, 2010 Qontext, a business social networking platform to make companies more agile and efficient has been SugarExchange certified by SugarCRM, the commercial open source CRM leader. The new integration with Qontext, social-enables SugarCRM so users can follow and collaborate with associates, partners and customers via a single platform.

“We’re excited about the natural fit between SugarCRM and Qontext where Qontext can enable and capture internal cross-functional conversations right within SugarCRM,” said Samir Ghosh, Qontext Vice President of Business Development. “It can even be used to help close business and service customers. Rather than just chattering about sales opportunities, SugarCRM + Qontext adds real context for better two-way cross-functional team selling and information recall.”

Unlike emails, which get buried, lost and forgotten, Qontext allows people to easily find documents and discussions months or even years later, right on an opportunity or customer account page for example. With Qontext, these social conversations can bridge across SugarCRM to link with other applications. Qontext also lets people work collaboratively on documents and important projects. Employees can stay on top of what’s going on in the company with real time feeds and they can opt to get customized alerts when important events happen, such as a new opportunity posting, product shipment or delay.

“The addition of Qontext underlines our commitment to offer a great CRM user experience anytime, anywhere,” said SugarCRM Senior Director, Martin Schneider, “It will allow users to be more productive and to connect more closely with their customers.”

Qontext was named the SugarExchange product of the month for October. It easily integrates with any app. Qontext was AppExchange certified by Salesforce.com earlier this year. Qontext was developed by Pramati Technologies, the company that has delivered world-class products for over a decade, including the highly acclaimed Pramati Java Middleware and SocialTwist. Qontext is available as a SaaS offering with a monthly subscription.
