Qontext Inc. was founded to bring the benefits of Social software and Web 2.0 tools to the enterprise. The team quickly realized that business benefits and use cases could be established only when social software integrates with business applications used by enterprises. Qontext is the leading Social Contextual Collaboration platform.  Qontext is the only Enterprise 2.0 product designed for fast, easy, deep integration into existing applications, which is ideal for enterprises and ISVs.

Qontext is owned by Pramati Technologies, the company that has delivered world-class products for more than a decade, including the highly acclaimed Pramati™ Java Application Server platform and Social Twist™, the word of mouth marketing leader.  The company is private, profitable, with over 300 software professionals and operations in Mountain View in California and Chennai and Hyderabad in India.

Qontext was named “Cool Vendor” by Gartner in the Context-aware Computing category in 2011.  Pramati was named “Top IT Product Company” in the Indian State, Andhra Pradesh, in 2011.

QONTEXT MANAGEMENT

Jay Pullur - CEO

Jay is the founder and the original designer of the Qontext platform. Jay’s career in the software industry spans 20 years, mainly in building products for new markets. Qontext is the third venture for Jay as an entrepreneur. Jay holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

Rajiv Shivane - VP, Engineering

Rajiv is the key architect of Qontext and is leading a team of 30 engineers in developing the product. He is a veteran of Internet technologies, scalable architecture, Enterprise Java™ Middleware and cloud computing. He has been with Pramati for over 10 years and represented Pramati on several standards bodies and JSRs. Rajiv holds a Masters degree from University of Minnesota.

Samir Ghosh - VP, Business Development & Strategy

Samir leads business development for Qontext. He has 25 years experience with Microsoft, IBM Lotus, Procter & Gamble, and GE/Intellution building, marketing, selling and implementing software and web solutions to enterprise, SMB and consumer markets. Samir has an MBA from UCLA Anderson, an International Business Diploma from the Stockholm School of Economics and a BS in Computer Science from WPI.
